How are specimens posted and how much will it cost?

Unless otherwise stated in the store, specimens are shipped unset, folded in individual paper envelopes and will require rehydrating and setting by yourself. They are cushioned to protect them in transit. We try to be as environmentally friendly as possible by using recycled materials for packaging when possible.

We will generally use the British Postal service, although larger shipments may use other carriers. We sell across the globe. All international shipments are sent by tracked or special delivery (except large envelope sized packages - unless high value items)

Free shipping on orders to UK over £50 for papered specimens

Set specimens are charged post due to the required extra packaging 

Cost

UK   -        Large envelope size box (for small orders)  delivery £2.90 ( 1-3 days) .Some large insects will need small parcel .

Europe -     

                    large envelope  size box ( for  small low value orders) . From (depending on weight)  ,  non tracked- £6 .50(<100g) , tracked £11.50 (<100g)

                    Standard small parcel delivery (Tracked) From   £ 16.00  (<1kg)  (<5-7 days) - Larger shipments will be calculated

  Non EU-   

 Large envelope (Tracked)   from £ 12.50 depending on country and weight

Standard small parcel delivery   From £ 19.50 (10-14 days ) - Larger shipments will be calculated

How long do orders take to reach me?

We aim to check the quality of the specimens and post within two working days. In general posting to Europe takes less than seven days, whilst the USA is ten to fourteen days, but we obviously have no control over the efficiency of the postal service. Other shipping options may arrive more quickly. We will email you once your order has been posted.

What if my order goes missing or is damaged in transit?

If your package has not arrived after two months it will be deemed to be lost, we will either resend at no cost to you or offer a refund (Insectsuk reserves the right to make the final choice after consultation with you).

If your order is damaged in transit, the item will be replaced or you will receive a full refund for the damaged item (excludes antenna damage  in lepidoptera ,or leg damage in beetles due to postal shock). Evidence of damage must be given by way of a photograph or a returned specimen (Insectsuk will not be responsible for postage costs associated with the return). We reserve the right to select whether to issue a refund or send a replacement after consultation.

What if my order cannot be delivered because of an issue with Customs or Quarantine?

Insectsuk.co.uk will not be held liable if your order is stopped by Customs or Quarantine. Insectsuk.co.uk will not be liable for any extra expenses that you may be liable for when importing your order into your country. It is your responsibility to ensure that you are able to import our products into your country and comply with any National documentation before you place an order.

Returns -What if I change my mind after I have received the order?

You have fourteen days to change your mind and notify us to receive a full refund. The postal cost of returning the item is your responsibility.
